I got bit by a dog in Tbilisi. First ER visit of my life.

I was on a jolly walk. Fetching a simple cookie. (My first car bump happened on the way to get a donut. Apparently snacks are my villain origin story.)

Tbilisi has dogs everywhere and animals and I have always gotten along. So when two ran up to me at Freedom Square, my gut said hmmm. Not full danger. Not fully safe either. But I've never had a bad animal encounter in my life — so I leaned safe.

Wrong turf. Wrong time.

Three bites. One ER. Three countries worth of hospitals for back to back rabies shots across Tbilisi, Dubai, and Saudi Arabia.

The signal was there. I just trusted my track record more than the moment.

The signal was never the problem. Ignoring it was.
